  PIANO STUDIO POLICY

  • Studying the art of piano playing is a fulfilling, enriching and enjoyable educational/artistic experience. It does, however, require commitment, dedication, disciplined daily practicing, and support from parents. Please consider this as you would enrollment in a school providing a musical education.

  • It is of utmost importance to keep a regular lesson schedule. Therefore, as in a school or university environment, there will be no rescheduling of lessons, no refunds, and no "make ups" for lessons missed, regardless of the reason.

  • If the student is late for the lesson, the lost time will not be made up or refunded. Also, if the student is behaving disrespectfully, the teacher has the right to stop the lesson in which case there will be no make up or refund.

  • Monthly tuition payments are due at the beginning of the first lesson of each month.

  • There will be a $10 late fee for every week the monthly tuition payment is late and a $30 fee for a returned check.

  • Studio recitals will take place in February and in June.

  • A one-month notice is required should student wish to discontinue lessons.

  • Students are not allowed to have lessons or coaching with any other piano teacher whatsoever while enrolled in our studios.

  • Parents and students are asked to discuss with teacher any performance or participation in any outside event, recital, festival, competition, show, etc. This is extremely important because the students represent our studios and we need to be certain that they are prepared and that the event will be beneficial for them and not interfere with the learning process.

  • Please do not ask for us to assign any music beyond the level of the student. This may be destructive for the student and severely interfere with the learning process and lesson plan.

  • Parents will be responsible for acquiring the books for students. The teachers will provide information regarding books and where to buy them. Tuition/registration fees do not cover recital fees, book fees and/or late fees. If the teacher acquires the book for the student, the book fee will be added to the following month's tuition payment.

  • No food, gum, or drinks allowed during lessons. Students are required to wash hands when they arrive for lessons. Please do not bring any friends of children with you to the studio. Immediate family members are welcome.

  • Please carefully read each month's tuition reminder letter you will receive in the mail and be aware of any information provided. Also, please make a note of the vacation dates on the calendar page.
